Dear students,

I would like to use BBB, moodle and emails to communicate with you, distribute readings, set assignments, support your expertise and discuss group work. You will hold a presentations in a digital setting that offers space for discussion.

The assignment consists of conceptualizing an educational approach for states in 5 different continents (Rwanda, Mongolia, Peru, USA/Silicon Valley, Bulgaria (focusing on local Roma families) for different age groups and contexts such as parent-child groups, nurseries, kindergartens and after-school activities. You can also choose a country that I have not mentioned here.

Educational approaches include: Head Start USA, Te Whariki New Zealand, Reggio Italy, Montessori Italy, Early Excellence Centers UK, Mediated Learning Experience CROSS CULTURAL. The scientific and sociopolitical background of these concepts must be kept in mind at all times, to which I will provide an introduction.

It is your task to prepare an overview of the sociopolitical, geographic, meteorological, economic, domestic and foreign policy and cultural background, as well as specific challenges posed to education. You may choose a particular dynamic to explore, such as inclusion or gender-neutral education.

Sources include: The World Bank, Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit, Zentrum für Politische Bildung, the EU's education policy and the foreign ministries, ministries for education and health, which offers fact sheets on a state's climate, history, societal groups, and form of government (e. g. Bulgaria's transition from real existing Socialism to an EU member state). https://www.un-ilibrary.org is a very good source. You may see soon that you can check different categories together.

The presentation, which includes a poster as a handout, expects the group to argument their strategy in implementing the concept for a particular institution in a particular state.

We would work best with 3 students form a Group.

Each Student is an expert in:

a) Education

b) history, Climate, socio-political challenges of a country

c) global dynamics of education

I will cooperate with experts and I will cooprate with the country-group via digital working groups.

Soon, you will find the material on this platform.

Groups should place their position in a common discussion within a framework of children's rights, social justice discourse and Western dominance as understood by post-colonialism studies/the de-coloniality movement.

At Saturday 11 a.m. we will meet an expert who will describe their own experiences in creating educational concepts in an other country.
